Strange incident on the way home from La Union

After a funfilled day frolicking sa pool, we finally checked out sa Thunderbird Resort and decided to have lunch sa Babalu's Bulalo:
Babalu's Bulalo
Nakita namin ito the day before and andaming nakapark na trucks at vans so shempre, kung san kumakain ang mga driver, ibig sabihin masarap ang pagkain dun (may ganun talaga.)

I volunteered to drive all the way to Manila para makatulog naman si Beltran. So keri keri lang, nakita ko sa mapa all I need to do is drive straight, wala naman kailangang likuan until I get to the town of Rosario sa La Union. All I need to do is stick to the main road.

When all of a sudden, I had this sinking feeling....
sakto naman nalingat si Beltran. I asked him to check the map... Pero after a few minutes mejo ok na kasi nakita kona sa tabi ng daan na we are in the town of Rosario. Sakto lang.

This road should take us to Manila. Pero bakit parang puro bundok sa paligid?

Keri lang, sabi ni Beltran. We are on the right track. Basta deretsuhin ko lang yung daan until we reach the Rosario Junction where I should turn right to Manila. This junction should be easy to find kasi the main road ends here and all you need to do is take the left road or right road (to Manila).

So ok, derecho pa ren ang maneho ko... until we saw an intersection with a road to the left and may malaking sign dun "MANILA" and may arrow pakaliwa. Nagtaka ako. Akala ko ba kelangan ko lang dumerecho?

Nakita ren ni Beltran. In fact, there was another sign on the right side of the road (passenger's side) na nagsasabi I have to take a left to Manila. Ok, so masunurin kami at tutal anlaki laki ng sign na nagsasabing MANILA then an arrow to the left... so kumaliwa ako.

Kaso bakit ganun? Naging zigzag yung daan...? Tapos paakyat na kami ng bundok... Tapos may signboard na we are going to the town of "Pugo". Where the hell is Pugo?

What the hell is going on??!

And naalala na ni Beltran. The town of Pugo is along Marcos Highway paakyat ng Baguio.

Beltran said, "Turn around".

"Whut?!"

"Mag U-Turn ka na!"

"Saglit maghahanap ako ng maayos na pwesto, ambibilis ng sasakyan baka banggain tayo sa likod pag huminto ako bigla..."

So finally nag U-Turn kami and on the way back... there were more signs saying na we should turn left to Manila... which means we should have never taken this road in the first place and dinerederecho lang namin yung road kanina.

So pagbalik sa unang intersection, we looked for the first MANILA sign which led us to this wrong road.

It was gone. There was nothing but talahib where the sign should have been.

Pakingshet.

Beltran insisted on driving at sabi ko kaya ko pa. Sabi niya siya nalang daw. Ok fine. Pagdating sa Petron, nagpalit kami. I knew something was up. I asked him what was wrong, bakit niya pinilit na siya nalang magdrive.

The reason he insisted on turning around kanina is because pagtingin niya pala sakin habang nagdadrive ako, may nakita daw siyang babaeng nakaputi na nakaupo sa likod ko na nakatawa habang nakatingin sa dinadaanan namin... tapos biglang nawala.

Ayus.

Biglaang Lakad

So ako more more download lang sa PC and si Beltran more more Facebook lang. When he suddenly saw pictures of his old car (he sold his car to his old boss) sa FB ng kanyang boss. And apparently, the pictures were taken sa Baguio, dahil super nagustuhan yung car ni Beltran, they took his car on a road trip.

So he had this sudden urge to go on a long drive para mawala ang pagkamiss niya sa old car niya.

We had no idea where to go so nagimpake ako ng jacket (baka mamundok) at bathing suit at snorkel (baka magdagat).

Habang nagiimpake:
Beltran: San ba tayo pupunta?
Me: Aba ewan ko sayo ikaw tong nagyayaya eh!
Beltran: Dali, ikaw magisip san tayo pupunta, tagadrive lang ako.
Me: Anokayayon!
Beltran: Ok mamili ka nalang, North or South???
Me: South. (hehe)

So nagpafulltank na kami and asa Bicutan Exit na ng...
Beltran: O huling hirit... North o South?
Me: North. (ayus)

After a few minutes, asa NLEX na kami. We decided to stop by Petron and magstarbucks.
Barista: So san po ang lakad niyo?
Me: Dikolame.

So off we went...

SCTEX...
Roadtrip!!!

Tarlac...
Hindi kami dito nagstay. Ambilis talaga ng mata ng kasama ko...

and Pangasinan... where spur of the moment lang we decided to visit Manaoag.
Yes, I'm a pilgrim in pekpek shorts.

Our Lady of Charity sa Agoo

We decide to try some authentic La Union Cuisine so kumain kami sa...
Carinderiang malangaw. ulam: bituka at atay ng baboy + fried fish with spinach and bamboo chever.

And finally... dito kami napadpad.

Think

Three of the old parents were proud of their children's careers. "They were very busy" each said. The last woman did not talk much of her son. Her son was not a high flyer like the others. So quiet lang siya.

Achie's Looks

Found this website kung san pwede ka magdamit ng kung ano ano. So dahil dito nalibang nanaman ako ng ilang oras. I decided to re-create my looks over the years. wala lang, kebs.

Ganito ang porma ko during my Silverwings days, power dressing (eew.)

During my jobless, FIP days, ganito naman ako manamit:

love!

Betis Church

Went to Pampanga one very early Saturday morning and finally was able to visit Monasterio de Sta. Clara. Anyway, Beltran and I decided to stay for the 6am mass.

Yun pala kapampangan yung mass. ngek.

So ako nagmistulang pipi habang yung katabi ko more more participate sa mass, more more kanta ng mga kapampangan hymns at nagreminisce ng mga altar boy days niya (nagPresident pa ng Knights of the Colombus at nagstint ng pagseseminarista na di ko pa ren talaga ma-imagine) (Luv, peace tayo).

After mass, we went to this nice church sa next town, sa Betis, kung saan di ko nakuha ang name ng church which, for the purpose of this blog I will name Betis Church (er...)

This is the main door (opened):

Hachiko Monogatari

"In 1924, Hachiko was brought to Tokyo by his owner Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo.
The bond between Hachiko and Mr. Ueno can only be described as unbreakable...
The two were inseparable and Hachiko even accompanied Mr. Ueno from his walk from home to the Shibuya train station where he would leave for work every single day.
Hachiko would unfailingly return the train station at the end of each day to welcome his master home.
But on May 1925 Professor Ueno suffered a stroke while he was at work and died soon after never to return to the train station...
Hachiko was waiting for his beloved master to return on that day as he always did before.
Soon after Mr. Ueno's death Hachiko was given away but he would escape every day to return to the train station to wait for his master.
Day after day Hachiko returned to the train station until he eventually stopped leaving...
Some people who had seen Hachiko with his master were so touched by his devotion they started bringing food to nourish him during his wait...
The days turned to weeks... Months... Years...
After 10 years of waiting for his master at the train station Hachiko died with his gaze fixed upon the spot his master disappeared the very last time...
Today a statue stands in the spot where Hachiko waited his entire life for his master's return..."

on maternity leave

So I am now on a 2 month maternity leave.
Going back to work on October 26
Right now I'm just spending the time healing a sprained ankle.
Been catching up on my Percy Jackson Chenever Novels care of Ainshor...
And still downloading more more movies.
Still asleep during the day, and up at night.

Maybe I'll do some shopping once we have paid all our credit card bills (mostly hospital bills and medicine)
Go back to Piandre one of these days to have my roots redone, and maybe have a fringe rebond (bangs lang ang papastraight)
Beltran promised to buy me a pair of shoes once I can get out of the house, so I'm looking forward to this one.
Maybe I'll catch up on my gardening, have to repot some plants...
If, by some miracle, I still have quite a lot of money, maybe I can start on my shoe business again.
Or maybe I can go on a fruit diet, I have tons of fruits which my boss gave me when I got back from the hospital, so I can go back to may 112 lbs self.

Suddenly I have all these time in my hands.
