mojito review

Wiki:
A Mojito is a traditional Cuban highball.

A mojito is traditionally made of five ingredients: white rum, sugar (traditionally sugar cane juice), lime, carbonated water, and mint. Its combination of sweetness, refreshing citrus and mint flavors are intended to mask the potent kick of the rum, and have made this clear highball a popular summer drink.

When preparing a mojito, lime juice is added to sugar (or syrup) and mint leaves. The mixture is then gently mashed with a muddler. The mint leaves should only be bruised to release the essential oils and must not be shredded[5]. Then rum is added and the mixture is briefly stirred to dissolve the sugar and to lift the mint sprigs up from the bottom for better presentation. Finally, the drink is topped with ice cubes and sparkling water, and mint leaves and lime wedges are used to garnish the glass.

Now, being a margarita fan, I am drawn to the mojito's citrusy flavor, but given other choices, I wouldn't normally order one.

Months ago, we went to Club Mafia and ordered a pitcher of mojito:

It tasted so good (tasted like a milder margarita, with a milder kick), we ordered more.

Last night, we went to Bed (MOA) and ordered a pitcher of mojito:

Instead of mint leaves, they put in mint syrup. The darned thing tasted like Robitussin with Colgate.

Never again!

Achie's Christmas

Dec. 24

Christmas started with my dad dropping by our house. Mahigpit ang mga jaguar dito sa village namin kaya dad had to call me up to talk to the sekyu to let him and his driver in:

Dad: Achie, ayaw kami papasukin ng guwardiya dito sa village niyo eh eto kausapin mo nga.
Achie (to manong guard): Hello?
*pause*
Guard: Ah... daddy... niyo ba.... ito?
Achie: Oo.
Guard: Ok, sige po.

So off I rushed to our gate to meet my dad and lo & behold kaya pala siya di pinapasok ng guard:

Crazy Dad.

After Daddy delivered our presents, he went off to Malabon while Tiffy and I made a tour of Paranaque and Makati to make my Mom's Christmas truly memorable.

I love my parents! (awwww..)

Went home to sleep for 1.5 hours then off to work!

Walang masyadong ginagawa and because I was dead tired from driving around all afternoon (with no aircon) I dozed off on my workstation hehe.

We had food from North Park as our Noche Buena and I was so *busog* akala ko mamamatay nako sa kabusugan (eh?). At around 3:30am I told an ofcmate na gutom nanaman ako. hehe

Dec. 25

After office, went home and bumorlogs. Then woke up to lunch and went straight to the dining room to this:

(both my crazy sister and the food)

And lahat kami mahina kumain.

And because we have planned for a long time to go away on Christmas (nagtatago sa mga kamaganak at mga inaanak) we have decided to go to Enchanted Kingdom and because we are stupid, di talaga namin naisip na SOBRANG DAMING TAO at tumuloy pa ren kami miski makulimlim na.

Mom, Tiffy, Utoy and Kelli fell in line for 1 hour to go on a 30-sec0nd ride, while Boysie and I were whining our asses off on the side.

And then it REALLY RAINED. Pakingshet. Karma daw dahil nagtatago kami. mweeehe.

From 122508 house_EK xmas

This photo was taken while Boysie and I were huddled under a small kiosk outside Rio Grande Rapids. Basang sisiw talaga!

After ng ride: "Uhm, excuse me, may nakita ba kayong pustiso jan...?"

Kaso mo sakin najackpot yung isang final alon at BASANG BASA AKO. Oh nose. Bakat galore.

So my mom and I went straight to a tiangge kung san bumili ako ng shorts na P50.

Then dead tired and super lumakas na uli ang ulan, we left that godforsaken amusement park and had dinner sa Rai Rai Ken sa may Shell Gas station sa Sta. Rosa.

From 122508 house_EK xmas

We had hot ramen. Then we went home and had hot showers. We were bone tired.

Memorable talaga itong Christmas na to. Miski saksakan ng perwisyo masaya pa ren.

We had Christmas like a normal family.

Liza: 20 kaya ngayon. hehe

*crickets*

Me: Oo nga no =/

------------------------------
I dont really feel like it is Christmas at all. havent done my shopping, im not in a joyous, festive mood, and i have no noche buena to look forward to. whatever.

ang masasabi ko lang sobrang lamig na! going out for lunch (at 1am) is a freezing (?) event and i can't survive outside without a jacket! ang ginaaaaaaw.

the other day at work, we heard Carmi call out "hey, fireworks!" and we all stood up craning our necks while the people closest to the windows pulled up the blinds so we could take a look and we were all there gawking like losers. just realized that this is what will happen on new year's eve. all of us at work, with headsets on and when we look out the 15th floor window, there will be fireworks outside.

:(

May alaga akong sisiw.

The End.

more more more sap

got this from dru's multiply and ang isweet:
--------------------------
If you love someone

If you love someone, ask them for nothing. Don't hold them back from their destiny.
Don't keep them from going off in search of their own answers.
Don't ask them for commitment. You will know commitment is real when it is something given willingly and not as something obligatory.

Don't ask them for promises.

If you are patient, if you have faith, you will know in your heart when the right time for promises has come.

And when that time arrives, then you will see that you have both lost nothing by setting each other free, and have instead gained a richer, fuller life,a wealth of experiences, and a stronger certainty of your desires.

But should they not return to you, then life hasn't cheated you because no promises were broken.Your bitterness will not last long, and you will feel thankful and blessed that at the very least, this beautiful soul has colored your life, that knowing them has already made life infinitely more meaningful.

By setting a person free, you run a risk of them not returning. But always remember that you found them beautiful precisely because they were free.People are like sunlight. You can feel their warmth, and their glow, but you can't hold them in your hand and keep them with you forever.

People CHOOSE to stay.

But a choice is made more meaningful when it is made despite so many other options.

Love has no restrictions and it is through mistakes that sometimes we see the right answer.
Because if you love someone, you ask them for nothing and they will come back to you.

When she stares at your mouth
[Kiss her]

When she pushes you or hits you because she thinks she's stronger than you
[Grab her and don't let go]

When she starts cursing you, trying to act all tough
[Kiss her and tell her you love her]

When she's quiet
[Ask her what's wrong]

When she ignores you
[ Give her your attention ]

When she pulls away
[Pull her back]

When you see her at her worst
[Tell her she's beautiful]

When you see her start crying
[Just hold her and dont say a word]

When you see her walking
[Sneak up and hug her waist from behind]

When she's scared
[Protect her]

When she steals your favorite hat
[Let her keep it and sleep with it for a night]

When she teases you
[Tease her back and make her laugh]

When she doesn't answer for a long time
[Reassure her that everything is okay]

When she looks at you with doubt
[Back yourself up]

When she says that she likes you
[She really does, more than you could understand]

When she grabs your hands

When she bumps into you

good deed

was on my way to work last night when i came upon 3 elderly people at the guard house. they were waiting for a tricycle.

something told me to go ahead and give them a ride. kyere lang, they were elderly so i doubt it kung masasama ang mga loob nila.

As I made the turn to exit the guardhouse I thought, ay ayoko nahihiya ako.

And by the time I was infront of them, I stepped on the breaks and asked the nearest elderly, "7-11 po?" 7-11 was the main gate and the usual drop off point.

No, one said. They just needed to go to church.

"Sakay na po kayo." Char! Akalain mo yun, good samaritan.

So sakay naman sila and one lola was having a hard time walking, she's carrying a cane with her. "God answered my prayers," she said. The lolo sat beside me sa front seat. Remembered I was wearing a dress today which has a tendency to show a bit of thigh whenever I'm driving. Tsk si Lolo talaga o hehe.

So dropped them off sa Marcelo Chapel and I went on my merry way to Serendra to buy something for our office "Exchange Gift" chenes.

Do you know the feeling that you did some extraordinarily good deed (sorry, extraordinary na to sakin) and you were kinda thinking for a few moments na baka swertehin ka in return and that you are going to have a good day? Well , I did think about it for a while but when I got to C5, I totally forgot about the deed as I had to pass by Shell gas station, try to get a parking space (which was scarce) at Serendra and felt mildly panicky as Sonja's Cupcakes didn't have their red cupcakes at the moment.

So the day went by in a blur: Contemplated on going to dinner with Ann, placed the cupcake on my "baby's" desk, had lunch at McDo with the 2 bakulaws, petiks (kwentuhan lang tunkol sa mga usapang lasing), went on a coaching session with the QD, na-eerna, umuwi (at nakaerna na ren sa wakas) and here i am writing this blog entry.

So ayun, just because you did a good deed does not necessarily mean na something pleasantly surprising will come your way today. The important thing is I was able to help 3 elderly people and I'm glad I did it because it felt nice.

:)

CHARLston.
