Bolinao, bolinao, bolinao.

Kapagod magdocument!
Ayoko na maging documentitian.

Day 1: April 26

Ang next daw ay 1:30 AM, which is an ordinary bus. No choice but to take the ordinary bus. From Pasay to Bolinao. Which took off at 12:30 AM. O diba ang gulo?

And the adventure begins...

Saglit. I dont think some of you even have any idea where Bolinao is. Ang Bolinao po ay nasa Pangasinan.
from Multimap.com. Click to enlarge.

So from Manila To Bolinao... naka aircool bus po kami.

After magcourtesy call sa pamilya Ulep, maghanap ng rent-a-boat (in vain), and take out lunch, we found ourselves in Abrak Beach, na kung saan ibang iba na siya sa mga pictures sa internet dati. After being pounded on by the waves, we headed to Ikong's Resort for calmer waters. Lakad lakad, dinner sa Punta Riviera, then borlogs.

CASUALTIES OF THE DAY:
Aircool bus (Pasay to Manila): P304.00
Breakfast: Courtesy of the Ulep Family
Gasoline for Ikong's pimpmobile: P1200 (bale P300 each)
Lunch: P929.00 (more or less P186.00 each)
I can eat you aaaalll day...
Cottage (special): P500.00
Gintong Beach Walk tsinelas sa Punta Riviera: P150.00 (nasira ang ACG trekking sandals)
Dinner at Punta Riviera: P1,199(more or less 300each, nilibre ang Ulep Family for their superb hospitality) (Ulep Family consists of Baby Ulep-Gonzales, Pia Gonzales and Ikong Calicdan... none of which is technically an Ulep.)
TOTAL: P1,365.00

Day 2: April 27

Final dip in Patar waters. Last minute accounting and finally headed off to Sundowners for lunch. Mejo nagmamadali for the 2:40pm Five Star Aircon bus back to Pasay. 2pm nagbakasakali lang kami and went to the Five Star Bus Terminal to ask what time dating ng aircon bus. Umalis na raw. Ang next daw ay 5:40pm na. (O diba anlabo).

Ikong had this bright idea na i-try nalang sa Victory Liner. So off we went two streets away to where the Victory Liner terminal was and there it is: an aircon bus to Pasay leaving at 3pm. Bumaba pa ren kami just to be sure.

Me: MANONG!!! Wag kayong aalis hangga't di niyo kami nakikitang sumasakay ha!!!!

And so off we went pasalubong shopping sa palengke after.

So there we were, bagoong, duhat and a plant after, aboard the Victory Liner back to sweet Manila.

CASUALTIES OF THE DAY:
Calicdan Residence (aka Ikong's Resort ): P1800 (2 days) (bale 450 each) (inclusive of chauffeur, photographer and occasional taga hirit)
Lunch at Sundowners: P900 (more or less mga P225 kme)
Halaman ni Baby: P200 (hehe)
AK Bagoong (Pangasinan's Best): P60.00 (2 bottles)
Isang plastic ng duhat: P5 (mapakla naman)
Victory Liner Aircon Bus (Bolinao - Pasay): P400
Snacks sa bus: P120.00 (mineral water, putok at ensaymada, shawarma at coke)
TOTAL: P1460.00

Overall gastos for the Bolinao trip: P2,825.00

3 girls, 1 police

Airport Road, on the way to MOA. Unfamiliar territory, feeling my way through the traffic while the sisters are talking about their future in a new condo unit.

Ann: "Ate, ano, payag ka bang makihati sa monthly amortization?"
Angel: "Eh kanino ba ipapangalan yung condo?"
Ann: "Siyempre sa akin."

When all of a sudden, I realized that it was Roxas Blvd already and I have to take a right turn if I want to go to MOA. From the middle lane, made a swerve to the right... in front of a waving beer-bellied police officer!

Puke Sisters Unison: "Putangina! Putangina! Putangina!"

I pulled over on the side, a few yards from the police officer. I was looking at the rearview mirror. I can't see the police because there was a jeepney behind me. Kumakabog ang dibdib.

Achie: "Shet! Shet! Shet! Tatakbuhan ko na ba? Tatakbuhan ko na bah?!"

Angel (seating at the backseat, turned over to look at the police officer): "Takbuhan mo na Achie!"

Achie: "Pakingshet!" *stepped on the gas and sped on*

Ann: "Putangina Achie!!!"

Achie (checking the rearview): "May motor ba, may motor?! Ano yang motor na yan, pulis ba yahn??!!"

Angel: "Messenger lang yan, Achie."

Achie: "Eh bakit parang pulis??! Pota Ainshor pulis ata yan!" *attempting to swerve to a side street to hide just in case but realized na oo, messenger nga lang*

Ann: *tahimik*
Angel: *tahimik*
Achie: *tahimik*

Five second silence. Already at Heritage Hotel, Edsa.

Angel (chuckle): "You felon."
Ann: "Makukulong ka dahil sa arson at estafa" (whet?)

Achie: *long long exhale*

where YA grew up

Was at Alabang last Saturday when my friends and I decided to take a detour and visit the old neighborhood.

Susmio por favor talk about memory lane!

This is where Ashnur used to live. The top left window used to be my room. There was no fence then, no orchids. Just the driveway with a large coconut tree on the right. In this house did the saga of my life began. It was through that window that I looked out and decided to become... an astronaut. Nyek.

And this is 23 Sulu St., where half of the Puke Sisters used to live. The house is totally unrecognizable, the lawn is gone so is the wiry garden set where we used to sit for hours on end (then stand up with swirly grill marks at the back of our thighs.). But THIS was part of the street where I accidentally stepped on Annitor's tsinelas while playing habulan, hence the only scar on her otherwise flawless legs. This was where we used to play soccer base and laugh at Jonathan who played with us wearing a skirt kasi bagong tuli siya. And this used to be the venue for our "party" where we did that dreaded Rick Astley performance.

Avigail the Nightingale's old house in Panay St. Super duper totally mega overly unrecognizable. No clue of the kamias tree at the side, nor the "antique" bench with wooden wheels which serves as armrests.

And eto... last but not the least... ang winner sa lahat... Ann & I were amazed to see that everything was unchanged over the years. Avee's second house at Samar St. That porch was where we started magbuntong hininga, while feasting on mangga with bagoong. Talked about everything as in everything: crushes ng highschool, sinong pangit, maporma, pokpok, horoscope ni madame rosa, pag may dumaan na sasakyan & gwapo yung driver tumitili, etc...

And here it is... ang pagbibigay pugay sa nakaraan. Was having doubts about posting this pero what the hell.

This is Angel and I, forgot when this pict was taken. But here we are with the original shape of our eyebrows.

The original YA: Avee, Apol, Ann, Achie, Angel & Aboy. Apol passed away several years ago.
This was taken in front of Avee's House in Panay (the super unrecognizeable one)
Pamehn pa si Haror dito. Pero tignan mo naman kung pano tumayo (hey there, Skinny Legs.)

Us four in 1995. The day the name YA was born.

At nagsimulang maging bulok.

The Accidental Trip

Ever since my "favorite boys" mentioned having a company outing sa La Luz, I felt really excited kasi I found out that it was dirt cheap to have a day trip there. So we planned on going even if 3 lang kami. But at the last minute, stell's shoti and shobe stev wanted to tag along (they bought flippers pa) and rerey meanwhile did not reply ("Sasama akoh! Basta bago mag June 21 binata pa ren ako!")(Riiiighhht).

Now Migs was assuming I would be planning the whole trip and asked me to do some research on the Internet. He agreed to call La Luz if I gave him the number. Anyway, I sent a text message asking for inquiries. La Luz replied "please give us more info.". So I replied "My name is Tyrelle Moon, we are planning to go to La Luz tomorrow for a daytrip, chorva chenes chenelyn forte..."

So the next day we had breakfast on this super hot Monday Morning at McDo Petron.

About 2.5 hours later we are at La Luz and was talking to the person at the front desk. Apparently they couldn't accommodate us because we didn't have a reservation.

What the hell?! The beach is free! It's the beach.

"Eh Miss," says diplomatic me, "Nagtext naman po ako. Sabi ko pupunta po kami."

"Nagreply ba ng confirmation?"

"Po?"

"May nagreply ba na confirmed kayo para pumunta dito?"

*crickets*. I can feel my friends are looking at me through slits. Five pairs of laser eyes (doble yung kay ebet kasi di nakacontacts). *pressured!!!*

I turn to Migs, nakataas ang kilay. "Migs," I say, "balik tayo sa kotse kukunin ko ang cellphone ko."

"Baket, anong gagawin mo?"

"Wala. Ibabato kolang sa kanya."

After making some drastic phone calls to the number I texted in La Luz, I gave up and decided to go to the next available resort which is Palm Beach Resort.

Migs remarked that it looked much much better than La Luz. So we talked to the nice girl in the yellow shirt for inquiries. Turns out day trip reservations should be done in Manila. At their Batangas office (which is this one), they only accept overnight walk-ins.

Migs: "Overnight nah! Wohooo!!!"

It was almost lunch. If we still pursued a daytrip, sayang ang oras. So okay lang sakin. Even if I don't have extra clothes. Kasi nga daytrip eh.

So we changed into our swimming gear and headed off for the beach. Saw dead corals, some small fishes and more sand.

Lunch was ok. After that, Migs was asleep in the kubo. Syoti was playing with his PSP. Ebet was staring into the horizon (more like, staring into space.), Stev was busy looking for a signal so she can call her boss to tell him na absent siya tomorrow. I was doing some laundry :-/

Ebet, Stev and I decided to explore the seashore leading to La Luz. Wala lang, just so I can see what the difference is between their beach and our beach. Nothing much.

After some photo op, coral wounds and jellyfish stings, we decided to trek back to our piece of shore and do some snorkeling. Practiced diving with my flippers and just basically swam around while the others were stuck to the edges of the corals (wahehehehhe). Practiced more diving kaso got a bit scared later on kasi the sun was setting and the sea floor got darker and darker.

After dinner, we decided to have a small drinking session by the seashore. Watched the constellations rise and set. Told Syoti the easiest way to see stars (may birds pang kasama). Said silent wishes on shooting stars while some of us made wishes on flying bats. Got drunk and fell asleep on the shore.

CASUALTIES OF THE DAY:
Mineral Water, 5 bottles @ P47.00 each, a toothpaste and deodorant: P350++ (sponsored ni ebet)
Gabrielle Room (4 to 6 people): P4500 for 4 people, P500 for extra person: P5000
Beer, 19 bottles @ P35.00 each: P595 (sponsored ko)

The next morning, we decided to pack up after breakfast. Stev was in a hurry as she wants to go to work pa. Me I have to go to Rockwell to deliver some epektus.

Super hot travel back to Manila as the Adventure's AC gave out whenever there's traffic. Had lunch at Rose & Grace's at Calamba. Since Stev treated us for lunch, we dropped her off at her office in Serendra. Gas-up at Petron BL.

And finally went home.

CASUALTIES OF THE DAY:
Lunch: P1455 (sponsored ni stev)
Gas: P1519 (sponsored ni migs at ebet)
