Insecure in China

Yey! So we finally got to Hong Kong. As I was looking at the pictures, i cant help but notice that i often carry around maps in the picture. how insecure!

<--- here's my family (and jerry) carrying maps, but this is the only moment in the entire Disneyland trip they actually opened them (opens map and say "hey it looks big", stuffs the map in the bag and forgets all about it)

now the biggest, most insecure nerd happens to be taking the above picture (that's me). after taking the shot, she opens the map and directs the group to this restaurant where tito alex and the rest are.

<--- I say we are NOT lost!!! I work for a damn courier company.

<--- the geek at work (still in HK Disney)

<-- there's damn sick nerdy girl in the background

<---dang i'm at it again! in shenzhen, china with my psycho sister (who's psycho?!)

<--- lost and confused without a map.

<--- this is not a map but i sure identified right away this patch of land along C5... it's my future home! McKinley Hill! (asa....)

Things I hate about JetstarAsia

Kung hindi lang kasi sooooobrang mura...

Economy class....

1. No leg room. I get cross-eyed looking at the back of the seat infront of me -- it's THAT close.

2. No complimentary food. Even Air Philippines would offer muffins and orange juice... Cebu Pacific would offer crackers but at Jetstar, the mineral water costs $2 (around 65 pesos).

3. The crew is masungit. But then again, before Jetstar, I considered Singapore Airlines Crew as the most masungit (Low IQ Generalization: All Singaporeans who work in an airline are masungit).

4. The food is not so great ("Hot Meals" for $8). Yes, it is hot, but I'm not sure if it killed all the bacteria. One hour after the plane landed, my stomach was making funny gurgling noises and I was running toward the toilet.

5. The flight back to Manila is too early. (whine whine whine)

So far that's it. But the great thing about Jetstar is this:

1. It's cheap.

So there.

Six Girls... Two Asian Countries

Just got back from singapore yesterday. I didnt bring any digicam with me since all my friends brought one so i might as well pose for all the cameras and collect all their copies (hwekhwek)

here are the events:

october 30: arrived in singapore via jetstarasia (more on this crappy airline later). Wasn't hungry when we boarded it but one hour later.... i was dying for food. The food is NOT complimentary but I have singapore dollars with me so i can buy some. But the thing is... this lady beside me isn't buying food, i don't know if she doesn't have singapore dollars with her or she's just not hungry. I decided if she's not eating, I'm not eating as well.

<--- here i am at the changi airport so frustratingly hungry. we dropped our things off at Bing's place and headed for a light dinner at Thai Express at the Esplanade. There was a lovely acoustic band playing by the riverbanks singing a rendition of "How Deep Is Your Love" by The BeeGees. Aimee and I wanted to stop and watch but all of us were in a hurry to catch the coach to Kuala Lumpur.

<-- here is where i'm supposed to sleep. it's not much (the coach looked like hospital beds on wheels) but i had a good sleep here. just anxious about it getting derailed though. October 31: Arrived in KL around 8am. went straight to KLCC tower (Petronas). We were planning to go on the viewing bridge but it was closed during Mondays (Dang!). Just had our pictures taken outside.

<-- outside the world's tallest building. See that red bag? it contains my stuff for the next 2 days. Arrived at Crown Regency Plaza where Bing reserved a 3 bedroom apartment for us. It was gorgeous.

<-- here we are after a quick shower, all made up and ready to explore the city (at the back: fanotnot; L-R: noemie, aimee, bhernz (white skirt), me (in red) and bing)

<--- the six of us at the revolving restaurant in Menara. That's the Petronas Towers between Bing and I. It's very difficult to see in this picture.
<-- Bhernz and I shopping at the Berjaya Times Square.

<-- cool down back at the crown regency plaza. take home dinners from Kenny Rogers' Roasters.
<-- the night is still young! went shopping at planet hollywood and went to Hard Rock Cafe afterwards: Halloween party! November 1: Woke up early for breakfast, showered and went straight to Cronus Hotel to catch the bus that will take us back to Singapore. The folks at the Aeroline placed us at the lounge, located at the belly of the double-decker bus. It got its own sound system, DVD player, and comfy couches for the 6 of us!

<-- here we are at the Pimp Mobile. Dropped our bags at Bing's place again and headed to the MRT to purchase ezlink cards (we should've done this on our first day). Afterwards, went to the Fountain of Wealth at Suntec but Fanotnot and I ended up shopping and I lost control of my credit card. One of the treasures I was able to own was this lovely handbag from MNG. Also had a short chat with the Filipino saleslady there (who wouldn't even give me a discount card. Hey what are kababayans for??!!)

<--- i almost cried when i saw this. i can't believe i am now the proud owner of this purse. Had dinner courtesy of Fommel and RD at this resto that serves pasta. We were served by a Filipino waitress (yes, we are everywhere...). Visited the Merlion and had a short dessert at Starbucks at the City Hall station (near entrance to Raffles City). November 2: Woke up quite late and went straight to Orchard Road, where we had lunch at Spaggeddie's (Paragon plaza) courtesy of Caloy. Money Changer ar Lucky Plaza and visited the House of Condoms. Credit Card on the loose at Takashimaya and dinner at the Sumo House (Bedok) where we met Bing in her full office regalia (She looked like she works at McDonald's), Fommel and RD, and a couple of their coworkers. Dropped our stuff at Bing's place again and made up for my "Despedida" since i'll be leaving the next morning for my mom's birthday.

So we went to this place called "Chijmes" over at Raffles City. we were quite hungry but all the restaurants were now closed. Headed to Clark Quay instead where Aimee's friend Chani, who was with us that time, knew all the bars and restaurants in the area. We finally settled at this place called the Gotham Penthouse and payed $15 to get in. I mentioned we were hungry so I was expecting just nachos and stuff but they only serve liquor (grr). I cannot drink alcohol on an empty stomach. But the Pinoy in us didn't want $15 to go to waste so we just shrugged all these off and partied like hell.

November 3: So a few moments later, we were back in Bing's apartment eating on McDonalds' delivery, 2 hours sleep, and I'm off to the airport with Bing, Fommel and RD. I was kinda feeling down because I'll be leaving early. That, and I have to spend 3 hours again on JetstarAsia (the crappy airline).
